If you reside in Brazil or need to find out your Brazilian ring size, you may want to take some extra precautions.
Firstly, unlike most sizing systems the system used in Brazil is non-linear. That means that the step up in size between different sizes are not necessarily even.
Secondly, there is no good published standard of the exact diameters of Brazilian ring sizes. That means that the corresponding US size is approximate. The Brazilian sizes are charted to the closest US size.
Thirdly, Brazil is known to use other sizing systems! You may encounter jewelers that use the Asian, or European sizing systems.
For these reasons it would be best to try to get as much information as possible on your finger size. If you are measuring your finger in Brazil, ask the person measuring to provide you with not only the size but also the diameter measurement of the inside of the ring that fits you well (see instructions at this page). This way you can match it more reliably to the US finger size. If you need to convert your US finger size to the Brazilian size, convert your size in multiple systems; the internal diameter being the most important.
This system is unique to Brazil but may also be used by some jewelers in neighboring countries.
