The design process can sometimes be an evolution in design. Here the designer was requested to place hearts on each side of the center diamond, and for the hearts to be overlaid on each other. This series of designs show the early design variant that was finalized for the customer with the final design where the hearts were rolled further over the top of the ring shank.
The heart design was a very specific design motif that they had incorporated into other design work (home furnishings) and they wanted the design included in this very meaningful ring design. The customer provided the heart outlines which were imported into the CAD software and were then incorportaed into the design work.
